A location decorated with a northern taste, not too cold, but simple, natural and well planned out.
White walls, wood, brick walls and Fornasetti wallpaper: the girls of Tost have made sure to give their shop a personal and unique touch that fully represents them, and they chose Porta Venezia as their store’s home, to move away from the typical traditional milanese fashion areas and instead choose a neighborhood that has been continuously evolving and developing over these past years, giving us new and interesting shops and venues to visit.
The store’s name is also particular and very fitting for their creation: TOST is in fact a combination of the italian word ‘toste’ (which means being bold) and of course the name of one of their almost daily snacks: the classic cheese and ham toast!
It’s not just a food venue, it’s also a connecting center for contemporary art: Chiara and Marika, photographer and designer, have in fact chosen to dedicate their attention to retail but also to organizing exhibits and events inside their store, welcoming new and various types of artists that contribute to making Tost an even more interesting place to visit.
The woman and men brands sold here are especially selected to offer an excellent alternative to the bigger mainstream brands, and they present top quality fabrics at an affordable price.
A union of simplicity and good taste!
There’s a very positive energy flowing inside Tost: the location’s white walls allow the plants and decor objects (such as the wooden boxes made directly from the girls) to find their own space and create a very welcoming environment for their customers.
There’s also a small garden in the back of the shop, which furtherly contributes to making Tost a unique meeting point, where you can enjoy some time chatting with the girls, in a venue that recalls the classic american backyards and gives off a warm feeling of home…. Of course, you’ll also meet Margherita, who will carefully keep an eye on you from her comfy doghouse while you browse through the store looking for your perfect clothes.
